DELIVERING THE JACK

The player to deliver first should set the mat, roll the jack, and help the skip centre the jack.

If it stops less than 2 m from the front ditch, the skip should bring it out to the 2 m mark.

The jack is improperly delivered if it:

         • goes in the ditch

         • goes out of bounds

         • doesn’t go 21 m from the front of the mat

If the first player improperly delivers the jack, the opponent will place the mat, deliver the jack and centre it. But the first player still delivers the 1st bowl.

If there are two unsuccessful attempts to deliver the jack, the jack is to be placed 2 m from the front ditch. The first player may then set the mat anywhere from the 2 m mat line up to the near hog line.
